Zakki is a personal hobby project, not a company. These terms cover your use of the service — please read them, they're short.
Beta
Zakki is a personal hobby project in public beta. Data may be reset, features may change, and the service may be unavailable without warning. Use Zakki at your own risk. Don't store anything in Zakki you can't afford to lose.
Acceptance
By accessing or using Zakki, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Age
Zakki is not intended for anyone under 16. If you're under 16, please don't sign up.
Your account
You sign in to Zakki using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under it. If you suspect unauthorized access, please secure your account immediately.
Bring your own key (BYOK)
Zakki requires you to provide your own OpenAI API key to generate keepsakes. You enter this key in the app and it is stored only in your browser — it is never sent to Zakki's servers.
You are solely responsible for all charges incurred on your OpenAI account from using Zakki.
Zakki does not subsidize, control, or have any visibility into your OpenAI billing. I recommend setting per-key usage limits in your OpenAI dashboard to avoid unexpected charges.
Your content
You own the journal entries, images, and tokens you create in Zakki. By using the service, you grant Zakki a limited license to store, display, and serve that content back to you. Zakki claims no ownership over your content and does not use it for any other purpose. You may delete your content at any time from the app, and may delete your account fully from the Profile page.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Zakki for anything illegal, harmful to others, or that violates OpenAI's usage policies. Accounts that misuse the service or violate OpenAI's policies may be suspended.
Availability
Zakki is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. There are no guarantees regarding uptime, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Zakki may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time without notice.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Zakki and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to charges on your OpenAI account, loss of data, or interruptions to the service.
Termination
You may stop using Zakki at any time. You may delete your account fully from the Profile page. Access may also be terminated or suspended for accounts that violate these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator's place of residence. Disputes are addressed first by good-faith email; if unresolved, parties retain whatever rights local consumer law provides. There is no binding-arbitration clause.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page changes when they do. Continued use of Zakki after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
